I'm having trouble with lag
My document is laggy as heck
We want Ellipsus to feel fast and seamless across all devices and browsers. But sometimes things can slow down, and it helps to know whether you’re running into network lag (the page is slow to load or gets stuck) or input lag (your typing or clicks feel delayed).
Network lag (slow to load)
If the issue is with the page itself taking forever to open or sync, try:
Switching networks—move from Wi-Fi to cellular, or try a hotspot.
Disable browser extensions, VPNs, or privacy blockers—these can interfere with syncing.
Try another browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari) to see if it’s browser-specific.
Open Ellipsus on another device to check if it’s machine-specific.
Input lag (typing or scrolling feels delayed)
If your keystrokes or clicks seem sluggish, or aren’t showing up immediately:
Compare documents—check whether the lag only happens in a large or complex doc vs. a smaller one.
Disable resource-intensive features—turn off spell check, clear the find & replace search bar, or hide invisible characters.
Close other heavy apps/tabs that might be hogging memory.
Try a different browser, or incognito mode—sometimes browser extensions can interfere with performance.
