Folders can contain documents and subfolders, so you can keep your Dashboard nice and tidy.
There are lots of ways to use folders. For instance:
To separate any research, outlines, and world-building documents from your main text.
To maintain reusable documents and templates, like character building and world-building sheets.
To organize your documents based on workflow; e.g., Drafting, Beta reading, Published.
To break your documents up into separate chapters or sections, ensuring docs always load right away, not matter the device you’re using.
To archive older documents / works / ideas to keep your dashboard clean.
Folders—and their contents—are only visible to you. Folders can’t be shared with collaborators, but we plan to introduce folder-sharing in the future.
Create a folder
To create a new folder, head to your dashboard and tap or click New folder, then give your folder a name. You can create documents or new subfolders directly in your folder.
Move a document or folder
To move a document or folder, click its three-dot menu and select Move. You can select or search for an existing folder, or create a new one.
Deleting folders
To delete a folder, click its three-dot menu and select Delete. This is a permanent action, and also deletes all subfolders, documents, and drafts inside.
Note: Ellipsus Support cannot recover deleted folders, or bulk restore their contents.
