What is Ellipsus?

Ellipsus is a writing tool that makes it easy to write, edit, collaborate, and share your work. We’re starting with a collaborative text editor, but we have big plans for 2025 and beyond.

What features are you working on?

So far, we’ve built the basics of text editing, collaborating, drafting, organization, and visual customization. Visit our ideas board to check out upcoming feature ideas—or add your own. You can upvote issues to track them, and follow along with our progress.

Who are you people?

Ellipsus was founded by John and Rex (co-founders, writers, and partners of more than a decade), inspired by ****the drama of trying to write a novel together. They live in Berlin with two dachshunds and a ton of books, and are building Ellipsus with the team based in Germany, Spain, and the U.S.—Orne (design), Fuad (engineering), Karol (engineering), and Merric (support and community).

When will you launch?

As writers, we know good (hopefully great) work takes time and iteration! There are a few big features we want to ship before we drop the Beta label for good. So, we’ll only “launch” launch when we know we’ve built something people really, really love.
