When are new features coming?

We try to release new features for both the free and Plus versions of Ellipsus as regularly as we can!

Ellipsus doesn't have a feature I'm looking for; will you add it?

We have a feature request board where new ideas can be submitted (but we request you go through it + this knowledge base first, as we receive many, many duplicates). If you find the feature you're looking for—or something close—you can upvote or add a comment to show your support, share thoughts, and get an update when the status on that idea changes.

Note: Frill is a separate site/platform, so your existing Ellipsus login will not work; you will need to sign up there to interact with the ideas board.

Will you commit to specific or recurring roadmap updates?

Any roadmap may (and likely will) change. As a small team, our priorities sometimes shift based on technical constraints, feedback and fixes.

Regarding specific features:

What is your priority order for requested “dealbreaker” features?

Very high priority! Offline mode, mobile and desktop apps, better long-form tools, performance and other improvements (at the scale of hundreds of thousands of users) are all super important.

Will you keep releasing free non-custom themes?

We plan to continue adding free themes periodically. We can’t promise a specific cadence, but free themes will roll out for specific events and accessibility-related requests.

Can you add text-to-speech or read-aloud?

It’s on our roadmap, but it’s a bit complicated. We’ve explored read-aloud and text-to-speech options, but many of the best available ones involve LLMs/AI or third-party services in ways we need to evaluate very carefully.

We still think read-aloud would be useful, especially for accessibility and editing, but we want to find the right way to do it.

What is the status and timeline for multi-factor authentication?

It’s a big priority, especially now that billing exists alongside accounts. We don’t have a specific date to announce, but MFA is something we intend to prioritize as part of broader security work.
