We want it to be easy to capture ideas, no matter where and when inspiration strikes. Our mobile web app offers easy access to Ellipsus when you’re away from your computer.
Using our mobile web app, you can write, collaborate, merge, and more.
This is just the first step toward a full-fledged mobile app. And since we’re in beta, you might run into things that could use some extra polish. If you spot any issues that interrupt your workflow, reach out to our support team at [email protected] or start a chat from the app.
Create documents and drafts
Your primary view in Ellipsus is your dashboard. This is where you can see your current documents (including those shared with you) and create new ones.
Create a document
To create a document, tap Create new at the top of your dashboard.
When you first open a document, you’ll only see the text editor. To view existing drafts, tap the folder icon to expand the left-hand panel. To reveal formatting and other document options, tap the hamburger menu to expand the right-hand panel.
There are three ways to format your text:
Use your phone’s built-in formatting options
Take advantage of our supported markdown shortcuts
Tap on Format in the right-hand panel
Create a draft
To create a draft, navigate to the main document (i.e., not an individual draft), tap on the hamburger menu to expand the right-hand panel, and then tap Create a draft.
Invite collaborators
Document owners can invite collaborators to create, edit, and discuss drafts. Tap on the hamburger menu to expand the right-hand panel, tap on Collaborators, then enter the email address of the collaborator you want to invite. Learn more about inviting others.
Add comments to drafts
Document owners and invited collaborators can create and reply to comments on individual drafts. To add a comment:
Navigate to a draft.
Tap to highlight a selection of text.
Tap the hamburger menu to expand the right-hand panel.
Tap on Comments.
Enter your comment and tap Comment.
Just like on desktop, you can edit, delete, reply to, and resolve comments. Learn more about commenting in Ellipsus.
Chat with collaborators
Document owners and invited collaborators can maintain separate chats for the main document and individual drafts. To start or open a chat, navigate to the relevant draft, tap on the hamburger menu, then tap on Chat. The chat window will open in full screen, but you can tap the X to view the current draft. Learn more about chatting in Ellipsus.
Share or export your document
It’s easy to share a document or draft on the go. Navigate to the version you wish to share, then tap on the hamburger menu and tap Share & export to get started. You can copy a link, download a PDF, or copy the text as HTML or Rich Text. Learn more about sharing and exporting in Ellipsus.
Switch between dark and light mode
By default, Ellipsus will adapt to your system settings. If you want to manually toggle between light and dark mode, you can do so from the dashboard or in an individual document. If you’re switching modes in a document, tap the folder icon to expand the left-hand panel and tap on the sun or moon icons.
