Enable spell check

Now and then, we can all use an extra set of eyes. Enter spell check.

In Ellipsus, spell check is off by default, so you can focus on writing without getting distracted. When you’re ready to check your document, click on Spell check in the right-hand panel and switch Check spelling on to enable spell check.

Once enabled, spell check will automatically scan your document and highlight potential misspellings. You can right-click on typos to select a suggested spelling or ignore the highlighted word. (Note that ignoring a word will prevent it from being included in spell check in the future.)

You can also use the right-hand panel to navigate spelling suggestions. From the right-hand panel, you can select and accept a suggested spelling for the highlighted word, ignore spelling suggestions for the word, or accept the suggested spelling for every instance of this word in the current doc or draft.

Add new languages

Your initial spell check language is based on your default browser settings, but you can always switch your preferred language or add multiple options. Click Manage languages and select which languages you’d like to add (or remove) to your preferred languages list.

Before you can use your new language with spell check, you’ll need to click the download icon next to the language to add it to your document.

Preferred languages are tied to an individual document. Any invited collaborators can view and manage your document's preferred languages.

Ellipsus currently supports the following languages:
